Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration – UEE32225

Pre-Requisites

To be eligible you need to be a licenced Electrician. Before attending the practical and undertaking any onsite work for the course, students must also apply for a Trainee Refrigerant Handling Licence. This can take up to two weeks to obtain the licence, so please apply early.

To be eligible to undertake the course you must currently hold an Australian Unrestricted Electrical Licence.

Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Occupational Licence (state/territory-based)

Additional and/or other conditions may apply in some jurisdictions subject to state/territory regulations governing refrigeration and air conditioning occupational licensing.

Disclaimer: this licence is issued by the relevant state or territory regulator, NOT by Volt Edge as the RTO. Achievement of UEE32225 supports, but does not itself guarantee or confer, eligibility. Known state pathways relevant to Volt Edge’s three-state delivery footprint (VIC, QLD, NSW) include:

Victoria (VIC): The Victorian Building Authority (VBA) / Building and Plumbing Commission administers a non-apprentice occupational licensing pathway for refrigeration and air conditioning work, via application form PRS-APP-008 (Refrigerated Air-conditioning Registration Application – Non-apprentice), which operates separately from ARC’s national RAC01 refrigerant handling licence scheme. Graduates seeking to work in Victoria should apply to the VBA directly in addition to obtaining their ARCtick authorisation.

Queensland (QLD): The Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC) administers the Mechanical Services – Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration (Occupational) licence, which may be obtained via an RPL pathway using evidence of the UEE32225 qualification and relevant industry experience. Application is made directly to QBCC.

New South Wales (NSW): Building Commission NSW (formerly branded NSW Fair Trading) administers relevant occupational licensing for air conditioning and refrigeration mechanical work in NSW. Graduates should contact Building Commission NSW on 13 27 00 to confirm current licensing pathway and evidentiary requirements.

Volt Edge does not issue, guarantee, or represent itself as issuing any of the above state-based licences; students are responsible for lodging their own application with the relevant regulator and should be advised of this distinction during enrolment and induction.

Electrical Occupation Licence

Volt Edge requires an unrestricted electrical licence as an entry condition, not because the course confers electrical licensing; the core electrical units are credited via CT against that pre-existing licence, not delivered as new training.

This – UEE32225 Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration satisfies the requirements for workers to apply for a Refrigerant Handling Licence with the Australian Refrigeration Council (ARC).
