Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration – UEE32225
This qualification covers the skills to select components, install, set up, test, fault-find, repair and maintain refrigeration systems and equipment used in food storage and preservation, along with air-conditioning and air distribution equipment in buildings and premises. It also covers the regulatory requirements for purchasing and handling refrigerants.
Our students for this course are fully qualified Electrical Licence holders (completed a four-year apprenticeship in Electrotechnology). This qualification builds on that existing trade background, extending their skills into refrigeration and air-conditioning work.
(Note: Students with limited knowledge and understanding may require the completion of workplace logbook – course will take up to 12 months to complete)
This course satisfies the requirements for workers applying for a (RAC01) Refrigerant Handling Licence with the Australian Refrigeration Council.
Once successfully completed, you can apply for your refrigerant handling licence through Arctick.
*Meets the training requirement to apply for a Refrigerant Handling Licence (RAC01) through ARCtick – the licence itself is a separate application, subject to your eligibility and state requirements
Content Delivery
Theory Assessment (Online Self-Paced) and must be completed prior to attending the practical block training.
Practical Assessments – Students with limited exposure to the refrigeration and air conditioning industry may be required to gain experience in the workplace (due to the nature of the course and your advanced standing – approx. up to 4 weeks Face to Face).
Theory and Practical Invoicing
The theory and practical components are invoiced separately. Upon enrolment in the theory component, an invoice will be issued and access to course materials will be granted once payment has been received. The practical component will be invoiced separately at the time of enrolment for that stage of the course.
Outcomes
Upon successful completion, students will have the skills to:
- Diagnose and rectify faults in air conditioning and refrigeration control systems.
- Establish basic operating systems – air conditioning & vapour compression systems.
- Install refrigerant pipe work, flow controls and accessories.
- Install, commission, service and maintain low & medium temperature systems.
- Recover and charge refrigerants.
- Solve problems in low voltage refrigeration and air conditioning circuits
- and more…
Completing this qualification meets the training requirement for a Refrigerant Handling Licence. Whether you are eligible to apply for and hold that licence and what you are then permitted to do with it depends on your individual circumstances and the licensing requirements of the state or territory you intend to work in. Completing the qualification does not by itself grant you a licence or guarantee eligibility.
*All students are required to check LICENSING requirements in your State prior to enrolling.
Disclaimer: this licence is issued by the relevant state or territory regulator, NOT by Volt Edge as the RTO. Achievement of UEE32225 supports, but does not itself guarantee or confer, eligibility. Known state pathways relevant to Volt Edge’s three-state delivery footprint (VIC, QLD, NSW) see Additional Information tab.
