Course Description

UEE40420 Certificate IV in Electrical Instrumentation is designed for qualified electricians who want to expand their skills in instrumentation and process control. This nationally recognised qualification provides the knowledge and practical experience required to select, install, commission, fault-find and maintain instrumentation equipment and control systems used in industrial plants, machinery and processing environments.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the course and access available Queensland funding, you must hold one of the following:

An Australian Unrestricted Electrical Licence, or
UEE30820 Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician (or an equivalent qualification).

Course Fees:

Student Contribution Fee: $400.00

Concessional Student Contribution Fee: $280.00

Training and Assessment Delivery

The course is delivered in two stages.

Stage 1: Online Learning

First, you will complete approximately 70 hours of online learning through our flexible, self-paced learning platform.

However, the actual study time may vary depending on your experience, knowledge, and learning pace.

Stage 2: Practical Assessment

Next, you will attend a one-week intensive practical assessment. Small class sizes allow you to gain hands-on experience while receiving support from experienced trainers.

If additional practical time is required, you can book a second practical week separately.

What is the Career Boost program funded through Department of Trade, Employment and Training ?
Career Boost aims to take a person’s career to the next level, enabling them to grow and apply their skills to existing or new job roles and to support productivity growth and workplace innovation.
The program delivers training to help individuals develop the higher-level skills needed to secure employment, advance their careers, or progress to further education and training to undertake university or tertiary qualifications.

If you are a Queensland resident with an Unrestricted Electrical Licence and hold your UEE30820 Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician (or an equivalent) Qualification, you may be eligible to receive Government Funding Assistance to complete this course. Eligible students under the Career Boost Program will need to pay a student contribution fee as shown in the cost tab.

Are you eligible to participate? You must:

• be a Queensland resident
• be aged 15 years or over, and no longer at school
• be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident (including humanitarian entrants), or a temporary resident with the necessary visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency; and
• not currently enrolled in a training course.

Eligibility for Concessional Students is/has:

• a holder of a Health Care or Pensioner Concession Card or is the partner or a dependant of a person who holds a Health Care or Pensioner Concession Card and is named on the card.
• able to provide us with an official form under Commonwealth law confirming that the student, their partner, or the person of whom the student is a dependant, is entitled to concessions under a Health Care or Pensioner Concession Card
• Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
• a disability
• an adult prisoner
