Course Description
This Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas course covers the principles of hazardous area installation, maintenance, inspections, and breakdowns of explosion-protection equipment with a high emphasis of practical inspections.Our Hazardous Area Training course has been designed with a new starter in mind but with enough technical knowledge to stimulated the most educated student. The course is Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas Training and the course material was designed by Tony McKewin who has 28 years hazardous area experience and has an Associate Diploma in Electrical Engineering as well as being a qualified Electrician. Content Delivery
Delivered in a 5 day holistic theory and assessment block with an online self-paced component before and after the face to face delivery.
The Volume of Learning for this program will comprise of:
→ 40 hours of workbook reading (Not mandatory).
→ 45 hours of supervised instruction including:
→ 30 hours of supervised theory instruction and discussions.
→ 15 hours of supervised assessment activities (written and practical).
→ Up to 10 hours of capstone assessment (online) including revision if required.
Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, you will receive a Statement of Attainment listing the competencies above.
As such, you will have the skills to:
→ Take actions to limit risk of an explosion.
→ Prepare to attend breakdown.
→ Install the equipment and wiring systems.
→ Complete maintenance work inspections and documentation.
→ Conduct testing.
→ Select and check equipment, wiring and accessories.
